Each bead has been crafted by an artisan by applying the molten white glass dots to the black base of the bead. Black skunk beads are found in a number of different variants both in East Africa as well as West Africa in countries such as Ethiopia, Ghana, and Nigeria. Thee particular beads are in relatively good condition and believed to be of Ethiopian provenance. Individual beads measure approximately 12mm in diameter with about 58 beads / strand.
