These brilliant ceramic beads are said to come from the region of Qom in historic Persia. These authentic beads are made by traditional artisans in a manner similar to the famed turquoise tiles that are characteristic of many ancient structures in modern Iran. The beads derive their name from the fact that they were sometimes used to to adorn the pack animals of nomadic people and were subsequently popularized during the 1960s and 1970s when they became fashionable in hippie culture. Although these beads are in good condition, they are authentic vintage beads from a private collection that is over 40 years old. These beads are handmade and will have some imperfections. Each bead is unique and may vary slightly from the photo. Beads are sold as a set of 2. Limited supply.

EXACTLY what I was searching for!
I first found Donkey Beads as a teenager in my local "head shop" in northwest NJ - circa 1969 or so. I treasured them! In the mid 80s, I passed them on to my son at a particularly stressful time in his young life to remind him of the strength he already possessed and that Mom always has his back.
I've searched for quite a while and now I'll be able to share these beauties when needed again...perhaps with my Granddaughter? What a joy! This is Much Appreciated!🙏☮🙏
