A beautiful strand of powder glass African beads, made by the people of Krobo Mountain in Ghana, West Africa. Many designs of Krobo beads are patterned to resemble old Venetian FANCY trade beads. Made from bottles and other glass items that are turned into powder, then poured into molds in order to create these cylindrical shaped beads. Decorations on the beads are made with a paste made of colored glass powder and water which is applied by hand using a thin wooden stalk. The beads are cooked a second time to fix the decor. Each 32" strand is unique and individual beads will measure approximately 11-20 x 12-15mm. Strand may vary slightly from picture.
