These authentic vintage blue Vaseline beads are rare both in their color and in their shape. Made from Bohemian Glass during the 1800's, beads such as these were likely faceted by hand for export to Africa. During the Golden Period of Glassmaking, the Glassworks in around Bohemia were world renowned for the quality and variety of glass objects that were made including chandeliers, glassware, beads, and other pieces of art. Vaseline beads are most commonly found in red, yellow, and green. These opaque blue beads are much harder to find. This 24" strand consists of approximately 50 beads each measuring about 8-12 x 11-14mm. Each strand is unique and may vary slightly from photo.
