These old natural stone beads are found in Nigeria. Populating a wide swath of West Africa, the people of the Fulani tribe have long put high value on the decorative arts. Although the exact provenance of these beads is unknown it's possible that that they may have originated in Southeast Asia and been subsequently traded to the African Continent. Strung on a durable cord and nicely finished with raffia, each bead is unique and will have it's own special pattern and texture. Beads measure approximately 19-68 x 11-28mm.
