Old Jumbo Mali Clay Spindle Beads

These old clay beads are said to be the spindle whorl from a traditional weaving spindle. Individual beads on each strand show unique and unusual patterns. Mali, West Africa has long been a source of some of the most interesting and collectible beads in Africa. Individual strands measure approximately 18-40 x 22-50mm. These beads are heavy and suitable to drape on a table as a decorative item or individual beads can be used as centerpiece beads. Multiple strands pictured.
