Mixed Opaque Recycled Glass Beads (9mm)

These beautiful recycled glass beads are handmade by artisans in the West African country of Ghana. Each bead is individually handcrafted through a traditional process passed down generation to generation. The steps involve crushing glass into tiny pieces, placing it in a mold, and then heating the crushed glass at high temperatures in a clay oven. Different types of glass are used including old cola bottles, broken tiles and windows, and other types of repurposed glass. The beads on this strand measure approximately 6-9 x 8-9mm with a hole size of approximately 2-3mm. Each strand measures about 28". Mixture of colors may vary slightly from photo.
