Recycled glass beads are a type of indigenously produced African bead from Ghana West Africa. These beautiful multicolor recycled beads are made using an old method that has been used for centuries. The glass itself is derived from a variety of recycled sources including old beverage and medicine bottles. The procedure for making the beads consists of a number of steps whereby powdered glass is poured into molds of clay and baked in a specialized oven. These beads are produced in large part by the Krobo tribe and through recycling glass are environmentally friendly. Beads are handmade and may vary slightly in tone and color combination from photo. Each bead measures approximately 12-13 x 11-13mm with a hole size of approximately 2-3mm. You will receive a full strand measuring approximately 24".
I absolutely love these beads. I mix rhea with recycled Rondelle glass beads and round gemstones. I make beautiful bracelets. I will be purchasing many more strands.
I was delighted to get this beautiful strand, look at the colors, and be able to go back to the site to wishlist more of a certain style, or buy them right away. It's kind of the Krobos "overview" strand for me. Some recycled glass, and all kinds of different patterned beads. Buy with confidence. This shop prides itself on service and being a great information resource.
