Jumbo Carved Conch Shell (Meditating Buddha)

Conch shells are of spiritual and religious importance in Hinduism and Buddhism. The conch shell, or Shankha, is one of the eight auspicious symbols of Buddhism. It is an offering vessel that is known in history for being used in times of war in ancient Nepal. It is said that the sound made by blowing on the Shankha is the sound of Buddhism. These days, the Shankha is used by devotees for worship in the temple. This hand-carved conch shell was carefully crafted by artisans in designs and motifs which are deeply valued in parts of Asia and around the world. The shell measures approximately 180-200 x 100-130mm (or 8-9 inches by 4-5 inches). Each conch shell is unique and may vary slightly from the photo.
