Commonly known as Bogolan or Bògòlanfini, each beautiful cloth is hand weaved with premium quality cotton, and dyed with fermented mud by the Bambara women of Mali. Look carefully and you will see that each piece has its own unique and distinctive pattern, often times inspired by traditional motifs. Handmade textiles such as this play a central role in the artistic tradition of Malian culture. This versatile fabric can be used for all kinds of unique design projects. The unexpected

I've been so very fortunate to travel through much of Mali and to the regions where these bogolon cloths are made. I especially love the organic nature not only of the cloths, but of the designs, and the creativity of those who envision these designs and bring those visions to life. So seeing this "dotted" design, which was something new to me... it reminded me that the art of making these cloths is an ongoing, evolutionary and mystic process.
