Garnet gets it name from the Latin word malogranatum which means pomegranate. In ancient times it was believed that Garnet was a great protection stone and would be worn often as an amulet to protect from evil and disasters. In the 1500s in the Czech Republic Garnet cutting techniques were perfected and the use of garnet gems in jewelry designs got more popular than ever. You will receive a full strand of beads measuring approximately 18". Each bead measures between 5-7 x 6-7mm with a hole size of approximately 2mm. Available in a variety of sizes. Multiple strands may be pictured. Each strand is sold individually. Pay close attention and notice these are premium vintage stock, and not the more recent Chinese production!
