These old stone beads are both colorful and unusual. Natural stone was among the earliest materials used by ancient cultures to make beads for personal adornment. Beads such as these are discovered in the ground where they have sometimes laid undisturbed for hundreds if not thousands of years. These specific beads were found in Mali West Africa.
