Antique Multicolor Venetian Skunk Beads #2316

These exceptional Skunk Eye beads are a beauty to behold. Old trade beads such as these originate in Venice, Italy where they were produced and sent to Africa. Each bead has been crafted by an artisan by applying the molten glass dots to the base of the bead. Skunk beads are found in a number of different variants both in East Africa as well as West Africa in countries such as Ethiopia, Ghana, and Nigeria. While they are common in black and red colors, this strand includes some ultra rare varieties including yellow, white, and blue. These particular beads are in relatively good condition. Individual beads measure approximately 9-11 x 10-12mm in diameter with about 84 beads on the strand. You will receive the exact strand pictured.
