These exceptional black Skunk Eye beads are a beauty to behold. Old trade beads such as these originate in Venice, Italy where they were produced and sent to Africa. Each bead has been crafted by an artisan by applying the molten white glass dots to the black base of the bead. Black skunk beads are found in a number of different variants both in East Africa as well as West Africa in countries such as Ethiopia, Ghana, and Nigeria. Thee particular beads pictured were found in Ghana and have been strung on raffia in a traditional length measuring 40" long. Individual beads measure approximately 11mm in diameter with about 80 beads / strand. Each strand is unique and may vary slightly from photo. Limited supply!
