thanks folks!

There were a few newer beads mixed in with the old beads, deleted them; and I had to clean them first, sealed in a bottle with soap and water and shook them, worked great. but otherwise OK price was good and the folks I sent some necklaces to loved them. I liked the diversity of color.

Beautiful old beads

These are lovely beads and you can tell they are super old---they have dirt on them and everything--charming to some, but maybe not for everyone. I gave them a good scrub in my studio and am excited to incorporate them into my designs.

Among the more rare varieties of trade beads, these vintage navy blue padre beads are a beauty to behold. Hold the beads up to the light and you will see the unique color of some of the translucent beads. Old padre beads such as these are found in Ethiopia, East Africa. Originally European-made, they were traded in Africa the late 1800 early 1900's. Each beads measures approximately 8-9mm in diameter. Look carefully to appreciate: these are original old padres...not new reproductions which are much easier to find.
