Old Trade beads such as these are as beautiful in their design as they are exceptional in their craftsmanship. Venetian glass beads were known for centuries as the highest quality and the workshops of Venice rose to prominence as the source for many of the iconic beads that are today associated with the African trade. This specific strand consists of almost exclusively of cylindrical beads with a single unusual design that resembles a yellow flame on a black background. This is a long strand that measures approximately 32". These special beads would be suitable for the collector, bead connoisseur, or discerning designer.
