This month’s Designer Spotlight shines on Janette Marie Jewelry, the creative force behind @jmariejewels. What started as a personal love for gemstones and natural textures has blossomed into a thriving jewelry brand rooted in both beauty and intention. Known for her bold use of vibrant stones and handcrafted African and Nepalese beads, Janette blends earthy elegance with a heartfelt mission: to give back. A portion of each sale supports nonprofit causes uplifting women and youth and making every design not just wearable, but meaningful. ✨

How did you get into jewelry making?Born from a passion for creating and wearing unique, one-of-a-kind pieces that celebrate the natural beauty of gemstones and vibrant colors found in nature, Janette Marie Jewelry began as a hobby of Founder and CEO, Janette Marie Braverman. Her hobby quickly transitioned into a way to give back. A portion of Janette Marie’s earnings are allocated for nonprofit services catering to causes supporting women and youth.

What kind of jewelry pieces are your favorite to make?
I enjoy designing bracelets, necklaces and earrings. Our commitment to quality ensures that every item is not only beautiful but also durable, making it a cherished addition to any jewelry collection.

What types of beads are your favorite to work with?
I love using a mix of earth tones as well as stones with vibrant colors. Especially, beads made of beautiful stones like turquoise, amethyst, malachite, labradorite, jasper, and several handmade hand-painted African and Nepalese beads. If I had to choose a favorite collection from the Bead Chest, it would be their Venetian Millefiori bead collection. So beautifully handcrafted!

What is your biggest jewelry design achievement?
I would say my biggest jewelry design achievement was my first 48” Lariat necklace that I sold at my jewelry store launch event. It took me over 24 hours to make, but it was truly worth it!

Who are some jewelry designers that inspire you?
John Hardy and Kendra Scott. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to meet Kendra Scott in person. Her amazing story truly resonated with my own.
Janette’s story reminds us that jewelry is more than an accessory, it’s a form of self-expression, storytelling, and sometimes, even service.
