This beautiful strand of brass saucer-shaped beads was made in Mali West Africa. Beads such these are said to be made by melting old silver coins or brass bracelets and reusing the material. In recent years, these beads are becoming more difficult to find as many of the traditional artisans leave the villages in pursuit of new opportunities. These hollow Mali beads are light-weight and fun to use. Great as accents or to add character to your unique jewelry designs. Each long strand measures approximately 32" in length with individual beads 14-16mm wide by 17-20mm diameter and about 50 beads per strand. Individual beads may show some wear or small nicks due to age.
