Product Details
This beautiful strand of African powder glass beads was made by the people of Krobo Mountain in Ghana, West Africa. Many designs of Krobo beads are patterned to resemble old Venetian fancy trade beads. They are made from bottles and other glass items that are turned into powder, then poured into molds in order to create beads. Decorations on the beads are made with a paste made of colored glass powder and water which is applied by hand using a thin wooden stalk. The beads are cooked a second time to fix the decor. Each bead measures approximately 20-26 x 11-12mm with a hole size of approximately 2-3mm. You will receive a full strand measuring approximately 29". Limited supply.
