Take a second to appreciate the true artisan craftsmanship of these Afghani Glass Beads likely made from old bangles. This is a more unusual cut of the glass that is difficult to find. Afghani Bangle Beads are said to have considerable age are made by stringing together pieces of old glass bracelets that are sometimes referred to as Roman Glass. Each strand has its own unique story to tell and could've been made with multiple different bangles. Strand length is about 29" in length with 15" of beads. Some strands may include a unique glass fragment pendant (not shown in photo). Individual beads measure approximately 2-3mm wide and 4-6mm diameter with a drilled hole size just under 1mm. While the beads have a predominantly black and dark blue tone, multiple colors may be included on each unique strand. Single pictured strand is intended to be representative and you will receive something comparable but not necessarily the exact same strand. Photo with multiple strands is intended to illustrate variation however each strand is sold separately. May be worn as a special necklace or repurposed in your unique creations. Unusual find!
The roughed matte surfaces, wide variety of shades, and combination of visual lightness from their translucence with substantial visual weight in the wide band for such small beads will make these a really complex and elegant touch in the earthy design I plan. Super exciting that they have so much of a statement look in a small size.
Very nice, will do for the basket that I want to create. I should have paid more attention to the amount of beads that it actually was. Fewer beads than I thought it would be.
