Very rare strand of original Ancient Roman Eye Beads from Mali West Africa. These beauties are said to be hundreds of years old and are hard to come by. Typically they are found in sub-Saharan Africa where they they are discovered individually among the shifting sands. Look carefully to admire the age and craftsmanship that has gone into making each handmade glass bead. The eye motif has been prized since antiquity as a safeguard from bad luck and evil intent. This long strand measures approximately 44" in length with individually beads measuring 9-16 x 8-20mm in each direction. There are approximately 99 beads on the strand and you will receive the exact strand pictured. Expect nicks, scratches and other imperfections due to the age of these beads.
