We are told that this beautiful necklace once belonged to the Chief of a village in the Oyo state of Nigeria. In the Yoruba culture beads have played an important role in not only life events and family relations, but also as a symbol of status. These large white heart beads are some that are rare to come across, and are decorated ornately with smaller fixings of vintage czech seed beads and even some sliced chevrons!
