A beautiful strand of powder glass African beads, made by the people of Krobo Mountain (Ghana, West Africa). This strand was designed to resemble old Venetian Aja and Awalleh Chevron Trade beads. Made from bottles and other glass items that are turned into powder, then poured into molds in order to create beads that resemble old Aja trade beads. Decorations on the beads are made by hand with a paste made of colored glass powder and water, which is applied using a thin wooden stalk before the beads are cooked a second time to fix the decor.
