Product Details

These authentic Djenne beads derive their name from the ancient city in Mali where they are found. Also known locally as Nila beads, they are said to be made of ancient excavated glass and are centuries old. The exact provenance of these beads is not known but it is believed that they may be possibly roman. Djenne beads are a more rare variety of African bead and are found in several colors including white, black, yellow, green, and blue. Each bead measures approximately 2-4mm wide and 3-5mm in diameter. Each strand is unique and may vary slightly from strand pictured. Bead count is approximate. Two strands are pictured however each strand is sold individually.
