Product Details

Gooseberry beads are known to be made in Venice in the 1700s through the 1900s. They are made of heated, drawn, pinched and polished clear glass, and are known for their iconic white stripes toward the outer edge. These beads in specific were transported to Africa sometime in the 19th or 20th century. Gooseberry beads are becoming exceedingly difficult to find, especially in condition as good as these! You will receive an extra long strand measuring approximately 32 inches in length. Beads measure approximately 5-17 x 6-12mm with a hole size of approximately 3mm. This is a graduated strand that contains many exceptionally large beads. We only have one strand. You will receive the exact strand pictured. Own a piece of history before it's too late!
