Antique Fried-Egg Matching Blue Rectangular Venetian Trade Beads #16581 (Long Strand)

Old Trade beads such as these are as beautiful in their design as they are exceptional in their craftsmanship. Venetian glass beads were known for centuries as the highest quality and the workshops of Venice rose to prominence as the source for many of the iconic beads that are today associated with the African trade. This strand consists of beads sometimes referred to as "Fried Egg" due to the distinctive design with a yellow center surrounded by white. Matching strands of Venetian beads such as these are harder to find. This long strand measures approximately 40" with beads arranged in a graduated fashion.
