Jewelry-making is more than just an art form—it’s a journey of creativity, discovery, and personal expression. For @mandhbeads, that journey started with a love for unique, eclectic styles and quickly grew into a thriving business. From experimenting with bold bead combinations to crafting custom pieces for high-profile clients, @mandhbeads has turned a passion for design into something truly special. In this Designer Spotlight, we explore her inspirations, favorite materials, and creative process.
How did you get into jewelry making?
I began making necklaces for myself in 2019 after discovering the brand Twine and Twig. I was inspired by their eclectic style and unique beads. I started researching bead stores and quickly stumbled upon The Bead Chest. My friends and family members started asking how they could buy the necklaces and before too long, I was ordering beads in bulk. During the pandemic, customers began asking for bracelets and earrings, and that’s when I began offering those items.
What kind of jewelry pieces are your favorite to make?
This is a tough choice for me (because I love them all!), but I’m going with earrings! I absolutely love making and wearing them, and personally don’t leave the house without earrings each day. They add such a fun touch to any outfit!
What types of beads are your favorite to work with?
My favorite beads to work with are recycled sea glass and wood beads. I can’t get enough!
Where can our followers purchase designs from you?
Customers can shop on my website, www.mandhbeads.com, or DM me anytime on Instagram @mandhbeads for custom inquiries.
What is your biggest jewelry design achievement?
My biggest jewelry design achievement was when a customer reached out to me and asked if I would make her childhood friend a custom necklace for her birthday. As it turns out, that friend is a famous fashion designer who I have admired for quite some time. It was a major fan-girl moment for me!
I love this question! I am still inspired by the ladies at Twine and Twig. Also, I admire Hattie Buzzard Jewelry, Leslie Curtis Jewelry, Willa Ford Designs, Hart Jewelry, Nat Nat Creations, Lizzie Fortunato Jewelry, and Elva Fields. There are so many more that I could list!
From crafting her first necklaces to creating custom pieces for well-known names, Sarah of @mandhbeads has built a brand that blends creativity with craftsmanship. Her love for recycled glass and wood beads continues to shine through in every design, inspiring others to explore their jewelry-making journey.
