A beautiful strand of powder glass African beads, made by the people of Krobo Mountain (Ghana, West Africa), reproducing old Venetian FANCY trade beads. Made from bottles and other glass items that are turned into powder, then poured into molds in order to create this nice looking drum shaped beads. Decorations on the beads are made with a paste made of colored glass powder and water, which is applied using a thin wooden stalk. They are cooked a second time to fix the decor. The beads are handmade.
The long strand of uniquely painted beads are a delight. I appreciate the quick delivery. The stand is taken apart and each bead is used as a presentation piece for youth working on trails and environmental issues. The story of the beads and where they come from is of great interest to the youth recipients. I have worked with your company for over 10 years and always like the vibrancy and color of the beads.
