{"product_id":"multifaceted-antique-russian-blue-trade-beads-77304","title":"Multifaceted Antique Russian Blue Trade Beads  #77303","description":"Among the most celebrated of antique faceted beads, Russian Blues derive their romantic name from their involvement in the Russian fur trade of the Pacific Northwest, where they first appeared in the Americas during the early 1800s. Inspired by faceted gemstone beads, the art of faceting glass was mastered by the artisans of Bohemia, where plentiful running water supplied the energy needed to operate the grinding wheels used to cut glass. Made for export, these beads were distributed through extensive trade networks and eventually found their way to both Africa and the Americas. Authentic Russian Blue beads were produced in a variety of shapes and shades, some considerably rarer than others. This distinctive 24\" strand combines unusual oval-shaped beads with the more commonly encountered faceted Russian Blues, creating an especially interesting mix of forms. Individual beads range approximately 5–17 x 5–9mm. Look closely and you can see the character of traditional hand-faceting in the subtle irregularities of the individual facets. This is a unique, one-of-a-kind strand, and you will receive the exact strand pictured. A special opportunity to own a genuine piece of bead and trade history.\r\n","brand":"The Bead Chest","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":49203767050395,"sku":"UNQ-RUS-17688","price":175.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1012\/8152\/files\/shopify_Antique_Russian_Blue_Trade_Beads_B_2.png?v=1786054933","url":"https:\/\/www.thebeadchest.com\/products\/multifaceted-antique-russian-blue-trade-beads-77304","provider":"The Bead Chest","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
