These handmade Sandcast beads have been fashioned in an ancient and time-honored tradition. Powdered glass beads such as these are made by crushing glass into tiny pieces that can be poured into a clay mold. When the glass is heated, it forms the bead which can then be hand-polished to achieve a nice, smooth finish. Each of these off-white beads measures approximately 12-14mm across with about 50 beads per strand. The beads have been strung on a sturdy cotton cord and finished on top with traditional raffia straw. May be worn as is, used for home decor, or repurposed in your jewelry creations!
