Prized by collectors and bead aficionados, raised Venetian Flower Beads such as these are rare and hard to find. Possibly found buried after an extended period, these beads show signs of age and a long life. Venice and particularly the island of Murano were a center of glass making since before the 13th century. In time, Venetian glass making became world renown for the quality and creativity of it's craftsmanship. These particular flower beads are likely 19th century production and individually made from famed Murano Glass using traditional glass making techniques. Each bead measures approximately 10-12mm wide and 11-13mm in diameter with large hole size of 2mm. The beads have been strung on a cotton cord and finished with raffia fiber at the top. Only one strand available. You will receive the exact strand pictured.
