Take a moment to appreciate the true artistry of these Afghani Glass Beads. These alluring beads are said to be very old and are made by using pieces of antique Afghani Bangles, also sometimes identified as Roman Glass. Each bead has its own unique story to tell. These beads have a striking weathered look to them and can make for a great accent piece in your original jewelry designs. These glass bead strands even look great when worn as a simple necklace. Each bead strand is about 25" in length. Each individual bead is approximately 5-20 x 4-11mm and roughly has a 2mm bead stringing hole. Multiple strands pictured. Each strand sold individually. Each strand is unique and bead tones and shapes vary from strand to strand. Grab a strand for yourself and take a piece of history home today. Note that while the material is said to be of old, possibly ancient origin, the precise age of the glass has not been independently verified.

Fulfilling my dream of Roman glass

I've longed for some Roman glass for 15 years or more, but it has always been beyond my reach. I'm so happy to have these beads! Their colors and sheen are beautiful. I wish I knew more about them, their specific origin, how they were made, etc. -- and how old they really are, because it's hard to believe that I can actually afford to own something made a couple of thousand years ago.. But I love them, whatever their provenance!
