Product Details

These colorful unusual chunks of glass are known as a Gebre beads. Hailing from the Swat valley of Northern Pakistan, original Gebre beads are believed to be up to 2,000 years old. This region of the world has a very ancient history and is one of the crucibles of civilization. Interestingly, Alexander the Great passed through this valley on his way to conquer India. These beads are a more recent production that have been fashioned in the original form. Individual beads range in size between 7-25mm wide by 4-15mm in diameter with a hole size of 1-2mm. Multiple strands pictured to illustrate variation. Each strand is unique and is sold separately. Limited supply.
