Green vaseline beads are among the more common glass trade beads from Ethiopia. Originally made in Czechoslovakia many decades ago, we sourced these beautiful glass bicone beads from the Oromo region in southern Ethiopia. Having been made by hand, each bead varies slightly in shape and size. The beads traditionally come in several colors, with green being more common. Despite this, these beads are becoming increasingly hard to find. Made by hand in Czechoslovakia from premium glass. You will receive a 26" strand, with approximately 57-60 beads. 100% authentic vintage beads. NOT a reproduction. Here at The Bead Chest, we love using trade beads when designing jewelry. Beads like green vaseline can add a dimension of history and culture to a necklace or bracelet..something that newer glass beads can't offer. While the green color of vaseline beads is the easiest color to come by, please note that these beads have indeed become more difficult to find over the years..so we encourage you to get yours while you can!
