Fun and colorful, these Krobo Glass Beads come from Ghana in West Africa. In this traditional art form, glass is crushed into a fine powder and then poured into clay molds. Once the glass is heated in an oven, it forms a what is commonly referred to as a powder glass beads. Individual beads are then painted by hand with a colorful geometric pattern. Many designs on Krobo beads are borrowed from Venetian trade beads.
Each strand of Krobo beads measures approximately 32" in length and includes approximately 25 beads measuring 25-30 x 11-12mm. The large 2-4mm hole is perfect for stringing on leather but this strand is long enough to be easily worn as a necklace.
