These lively blue Krobo beads have been fashioned to resemble antique Venetian trade beads. Krobo beads are a traditional craft of Ghana in West Africa and are made by artisans using the powder glass technique. Fine glass particles are poured into a clay mold and fired in a kiln. After the glass anneals to form a bead, the surface is painted by hand. Each bead measures approximately 12-14mm wide and 8mm in diameter with a hole size of about 3mm.
