Every year or two we come across a piece so special that we have a hard time listing it for sale -- this is it! We are told that this beautiful necklace once belonged to the Chief of a village in the Oyo state of Nigeria. In the Yoruba culture beads have played an important role in not only life events and family relations, but also as a symbol of status. These large white heart beads are some that are rare to come across, and are decorated ornately with smaller fixings of vintage czech seed beads and even some sliced chevrons! Truly fitting for a king, this 36 inch long necklace is something so unique we do not expect to see anything like it again in the future. You will receive the exact necklace photographed.
