These unusual tube beads are said to have considerable age and are handmade from natural stone. Old beads such as these are sometimes found by farmers or or other people when they dig in the ground. Ancient Mali was the site an ancient and important empire and it's location made it a significant stop for trans-Saharan trade. These handmade beads are likely made from white quartz. Each strand measures approximately 33" in length with individual beads 6-15mm wide by 5-10mm diameter and a hole size of approximately 2mm. Each strand is unique and may vary slightly from strand pictured.
