Product Details

Old Vaseline beads in this amber color are exceedingly rare and hard to find. Beads such as these were likely made in Bohemia using a combination of glass molding followed faceting. Bohemia was a center of glass cutting throughout the 19th century due to the abundance of streams that could be used to drive the grinding wheels. Vaseline beads were likely introduced towards the end of the 19th century and were produced in a variety of colors including yellow, green, red, and less often blue, clear, and amber.
