Product Details

A beautiful strand of powder glass African beads, made by the people of Krobo Mountain (Ghana, West Africa), reproducing old Venetian FANCY trade beads. Made from bottles and other glass items that are turned into powder, then poured into molds in order to create this nice looking drum shaped beads. Decorations on the beads are made with a paste made of colored glass powder and water, which is applied using a thin wooden stalk. They are cooked a second time to fix the decor. The beads are handmade. Pattern of dots may vary from photo.

Krobo Beads!

I absolutely love these beads. I mix rhea with recycled Rondelle glass beads and round gemstones. I make beautiful bracelets. I will be purchasing many more strands.

Great Sampling of Different Styles and Colors

I was delighted to get this beautiful strand, look at the colors, and be able to go back to the site to wishlist more of a certain style, or buy them right away. It's kind of the Krobos "overview" strand for me. Some recycled glass, and all kinds of different patterned beads. Buy with confidence. So pretty!

I used these beautiful melon colored beads to make a bracelet and added some Bead Chest brass bells. Love it! Now I need to make a matching anklet!
