Take a look at these unusual Medicine Man beads found in Ethiopia, East Africa. Old trade beads such as these are originally of Venetian provenance and were transported by merchants and explorers for trade in Africa during the 18th-20th centuries. How these beads got their interesting name is not known for sure but it is possible that some kind of healing power or protective quality was attributed to these beads in local culture. Individual beads will measure 9-12mm in diameter with approximately 100 beads per strand. This is listing is for an extra long double strand as pictured in the photo. Each strand is unique and will vary slightly from strand pictured. Ancient and modern

These beads have the cachet of ancient trade beads, but they look like modern art. Easy to use with a variety of other beads. I like!
