Product Details

This beautiful strand of African powder glass beads was made by the people of Krobo Mountain in Ghana, West Africa. Many designs of Krobo beads are patterned to resemble old Venetian fancy trade beads. They are made from bottles and other glass items that are turned into powder, then poured into molds in order to create beads. Decorations on the beads are made with a paste made of colored glass powder and water which is applied by hand using a thin wooden stalk. The beads are cooked a second time to fix the decor. Each bead measures approximately 11-24 x 10-12mm with a hole size of approximately 2-3mm. You will receive a full strand measuring approximately 36".

Yellow medley, Cobo beats

I love these beads. And unusual color for. Krobo be.ads. I will likely buy more to have them on hand. And I may make one necklace out of nothing but these beads.
