The mineral rich landscape of Central Asia has been a source of treasured stones for at least three millennia. These delightful, handcrafted gemstone beads come in a special cube shape, measuring approximately 9-14 x 9-14mm, with holes measuring 2mm. Each strand is approximately 18" long. Lapis is a natural stone that has been prized since antiquity for its deep blue color. Lapis stone from the mines of central Afghanistan has been used throughout history both in jewelry as well as to make distinctive blue dyes.
