This is a beautiful strand of interlocking Czech beads made from glass and imported from Africa. These African beads are known as Snake beads because of their similarity to the snake vertebrae. They date back from the early 1900's. The beads have been molded and the strand is in great condition. It has a nice antique rose color and makes great for spacers. Very often the strand may come with cobalt blue color beads which alternate with the rose beads which shows even more the interesting shape of these beads. The beads are 3 - 6 mm thick, and about 8 mm in diameter There are about 24 inches of beads that measure 6mm. The strand can be worn as is because it is long enough to slip over the head. You can also use these beads as spacers in your own bead creations.
