History of Mali Clay Beads:
Mali Clay Beads present a somewhat baffling history, since it is nigh on impossible to ascertain their date of production. Archaeological digs within Mali, have realized great collections of these beads, determined to be at least 500 years old. Clay bead production within Africa, is a craft several thousand years old – as proven with the finding of
Whorl Beads in West Africa. As a rule, Mali Clay Beads are produced through a gradual baking process in the heat of the sun - although it is not clear if they are made using a mold, or cane production process.
The strands are in very good condition.
