These beads were originally made for the purpose of protection from evil eye. This idea goes back to a millenium and comes from the belief that some people can bestow a curse on victims that could lead to health problems or material loss. It is a belief that is shared by many countries in the Middle East and in some way, they all have their own version of protection in making beads that have what looks like one or multiple eyes on them, and they make come in different colors and shapes.
